Such systems are all around us. Every business is a human-based system, as is every school, every government, every hospital and every charity. Our families are human-based systems. Even when we talk about individuals — folks like you and me — we are talking about human-based systems.
One of my deep beliefs is that there are no hard, or fixed, limits to the degree to which we can improve the human-based systems we care about. While there are obstacles to improvement these obstacles can always be overcome or avoided — if we are willing to do the work required to achieve it.
